If you're applying for the animation job here are some rules to follow!!
1. Make the animation smooth (If want to make the characters bounce from pose to pose, then people are gonna have a problem with that, animate everything frame by frame, to make it look like animation and not illustration)
2. Follow the storyboards (Storyboards/Animatics are a rough draft on what the animation should look like when it’s finished, and when I post the video, it is finished)
3. Make the animation be consistent (In an animated series the animation looks like it was made by one person, but it was made by other people, to be consistent, learn how to draw in my style, same things goes for the animatics)
4. Use smear frames (If you don’t bother to do frame by frame animation, just do smears, sure they make it ugly, but it beats drawing everything frame by frame, unlike traditional movement in animation, which uses keyframes (to plot beginning/ending points) and in-between frames (to create the illusion of movement), a “smear” depicts one quick “blur” of motion in a single frame.)
5. Get your animation done on time (When I send you the storyboards, I’ll also give a date on when your part of the animation is supposed to be finished, you can tell me that you don’t have enough time, yes, but make sure you get it done on time)
